What's new in 1.2.1?

The version 1.2.1 of iTop is mostly a maintenance release aimed to provide stability and bug fixes. However there are a few new features:

Query Phrasebook

Write OQL queries that can be run by end-users and integrated into Excel for building reports based on live data.

Audit performance

The interactive audit now runs faster (and uses less memory) when auditing large sets of data.

Data Synchronization Enhancements

The data synchronization can now run by "chunks" to allow importing a lot of data even on a system with little memory. The synchronization now automatically retries some non fatal errors due to missing external data. Also the search and display of replicas has been improved for an easier troubleshooting of the synchronization.

Minor changes

About 30 minor enhancements and bug fixes have been implemented in this release. For the complete list of modifications, have a look at the README file.

How to upgrade?

Install iTop into a new directory and run the installation wizard to upgrade to the new version.

Nouveautés de la version 1.2.1 ?

La version 1.2.1 est principalement une version de maintenance contenant des correctifs de bug et destinés aux environnements de production qui ont besoin de stabilité. Elle contient cependant quelques nouvelles fonctionnalités :

Livre des Requêtes

Ecrivez et stockez des requêtes OQL pour les partager avec les utilisateurs et construire des rapports Excel basés sur des données dynamiques.

Performance de l'Audit

L'audit interactif est désormais plus rapide (et consomme moins de mémoire) pour analyser de larges volumes de données.

Améliorations de la Synchronisation de Données

La synchronisation de données peut s'exécuter par tranches pour permettre l'import d'un grand nombre d'objets même sur un système disposant de peu de mémoire. La reprise de certaines erreurs liées à des données externes incomplètes est maintenant automatique. Pour faciliter la mise au point, l'affichage et la recherche dans les réplicas a été améliorée.

Autres modification

Cette version apporte plus de 30 correctifs et autres modifications mineures. La liste complète des changements est disponible dans le fichier README file.

Comment mettre à jour votre iTop ?

Installez la nouvelle version dans un nouveau répertoire et lancez l'installation en sélectionnant l'option "Upgrade an existing iTop instance".

La version beta d'iTop 1.2.1 est disponible pour le téléchargement et le test.

Cette nouvelle version corrige plus de 20 bugs et apporte les nouvelles fonctionnalités suivantes :

La vue graphique de l'analyse d'impact a été améliorée, vous pouvez maintenant filtrer les classes d'objets que vous désirez afficher.

Le nouveau "Livre des requêtes" vous permet de d'écrire, de tester et de partager des requêtes OQL. vous pouvez ensuite les exécuter via le menu "Export" et les intégrer comme des "requêtes web" dans Excel !

Amélioration de la synchronisation de données : Pour effectuer la synchronisation de grands volumes de données sans consommer beaucoup de mémoire, l'exécution peut être découpée en plusieurs tranches. Quand une clef externe ne peut pas être résolue au moment de l'import, un avertissement est stocké et cette résolution sera automatiquement effectuée à nouveau lors du prochain import. L'affichage des réplicas a été amélioré pour faciliter la mise au point de vos synchronisations de données.

La version 1.2.1 finale est prévue pour courant Janvier. D'ici là n'hésitez pas à poster vos feedbacks sur le bug tracker ou le forum !

The beta version of iTop 1.2.1 is available now for downloading and testing.

This new version fixes more than 20 bugs and adds a few new features:

The impact analysis view has been improved: It allows you to filter the classes of objects displayed in the graphical view.
The new "Query phrase book": let you create, test and share your OQL queries. Run them via the "Export" menu, without the limitation of the URL length in Excel web queries!
Enhanced data synchronization: For performing huge synchronizations with little memory, the execution of the data synchronization can be split into several processes. When an external key cannot be reconciled, the synchronization will be retried later, leaving some time to create the objects in iTop. Improved the search/display of replicas for an easier troubleshooting of the synchronization.

The final stable version will be released in January 2012. Until then, your feedbacks on the iTop bug tracker are very welcome!

Gestion des hiérarchies : vous pouvez maintenant créer et naviguer dans les hiérarchies d'organisations.

Support de CAS - iTop supporte désormais l'autentification basée sur "Central Authentication Service" de JA-SIG ce qui permet de construire une solution avec un login unique (single sign-on) quand iTop est intégré avec d'autres applications de type portail, telles que LifeRay, uPortal, Moodle..

Meilleurs performances - L'affichage des listes longues a été repensé avec un mode paginé qui offre une navigation fluide même pour des milliers d'objets.

Localisation - iTop est maintenant disponible aussi en japonais.

Plus de productivité - les actions les plus fréquentes sont désormais accessibles d'un simple clic à côté du menu 'Autres actions' pour un accès plus rapide.
